Geographic Elements: The Virginia colony is made up of both coastal plain and piedmont. It is most fertile and has a 5 to 9 month growing season. Virginia also makes a great profit from tobacco, corn, fruits and skins, cattle and grain, and product from pigs. Also, a major part of this colony, Jamestown, was founded in 1607.
Political Elements: The local government of this colony was the House of Burgesses. For white land-owners only, there was suffrage and they were allowed to hold office positions.
Religious Elements: The citizens of this colony were Anglican. Any non-anglicans were to leave the colony.
Socio-Economic Elements: The colony was primarily founded for trade and profit. Economically, their main cash crop was tobacco. In this colony, slavery began in 1619 with about 20 slaves. Because of Bacon's rebellion, a reliance on slave labor began.
